This is what my Helleborus niger looks like today.
In the next photo how it flowered March 25th last year
after a really mild winter. It is an exceptionally late
spring this year in Norway. All over the northern part
of the northern hemisphere it is the same, I notice.
I bought a few new ones, H. orientalis, on Friday which I am really excited about (pics below this text).
In the garden the Galanthus nivalis have started blooming, and the crocuses are showing their tiny shoots. In most of the garden the soil is frozen. Then we have to remember that I garden at the 60th N latitude! Today it is raining and we have 6 degrees Celsius - snow is melting. These photos of the Hellebores are my contribution to your meme this time.
Det er interessant å sammenligne blomstringen litt med i fjor. Vi vet jo at det er sent og det ble veldig konkret med de to øverste bildene. Men det er gøy å se knoppene nå som isen endelig har smeltet der!
